Gucci Resort – 2017

Westminster Abbey, the Gothic cathedral, located in the heart of London, as well as being one of the places where are required some of the most significant historical events of the United Kingdom (such as the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton), was also headquarters of last of the Gucci Resort show signed by the designer Alessandro Michele. The fashion house has been confirmed as one of the “coolest” of the moment, showing on the catwalk, for the Resort season, 94 hypnotic looks full of details with artistic references. Some dresses seemed to be straight out of the closet of a mother from ’70, as the stylized jeans that resemble those worn by skinheads. To these have been added: mix of prints, ultra romantic dresses, contrasted to other fluids, pajama-style garments, jackets, jeans with various patches and T-shirts. Christian Dior Resort – 2017

From sunny Brazil directly to the rainy London, more precisely in Oxfordshire countryside. It was there that the train “The Dior Express” shuttled up guests for the parade of the maison Dior, held at the Blenheim Palace. Before the show began, it was presented an exhibition of archival Dior pieces, from the two collections shown at the palace in 1954 and 1958. Specifically, the collection have the characteristic of being very bulky – let’s embrace the volume – through pouf sleeves, ruffled peplums, kick-flare pants and more. The Resort pieces were known for skirts to be worn on pants, vests over shirts and dresses over knits. Speaking about dresses, a couple of ones were characterized by pretty floral prints. For accessories: the gold-soled booties which accompanied several looks, and scarves tied to the wrist of the models, were the highlights and have attracted the most attention. #LVCruise Show – 2017

In this period the Resort (or Cruise) collections are on top. It was in fact presented by Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the maison Louis Vuitton, the #LVCruise line. The show was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the MAC – Museum of Contemporary Art, designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer. The collection was combined with long-standing references from Ghesquière – sport detailing, cropped silhouettes, bold graphics – with a touch of Brazilian flair, not only in a series of ruffled looks, but also in some soccer – aka Futebol – embroideries. For accessories, we can mention the Boombox bags (the radio of the 90s) that thanks to Bluetooth technology it can also play music.
